I discovered the Halflinger
slipper @ my Birkenstock dealer. The demo they had was a
perfect fit though when I went to purchase one, my size was
gone. I purchased one online. Thought the initial fit was not
as perfect, as I wore the slipper, it has become more true.
Love this slipper. This is my 6th pair. I like the fact that
its not a hard rubber sole - it's meant to be a slipper, keep
your feet warm, not to wear outside. For that I wear shoes.
Only wish I could wear them year round - too warm in the
summer.
Wears this shoe: from when I get home until I leave the house
The simple, common looking slipper made by Haflinger is not
common at all. Inside of the boiled wool slipper is sturdy
rubber insert with an arch for firm support. Folks like me
need that arch and need the comfort of good woolin a chilly
winter. In the winter I wear these slippers with socks, in the
spring and fall, without socks. When I sit to read or compute
in my somewhat drafty farmhouse, my feet are always comfy
warm. Because they are all wool, they breath, and your feet do
not accumulate any moisture whatsoever! It's like walking on a
firm cloud. I will wear Nordia slippers for the rest of my
life if, god willing, Acorn keeps making them. |
